Questions on Incomplete Transitions and Website Feedback

Dear Paul, Thanks for the information you sent me. I have a question about the four members who started the transition process to the new system, but did not complete it. Do they automatically receive a message encouraging them to complete the process in order to join? I don't want to take them off the mailing list if they still have an interest in joining. One of them, Chuck Cattell, tuned in to one of our Zoom meetings recently. If these people have not been contacted about their incomplete renewal, I'd be glad to write them a reminder note. Just let me knowif there's usually some other follow-up in these cases. The members in question are Cattell, Maughan, Mahady (Thomas), and Wharton. Also, let me know how to go about gaining access to the membership information on the website. Lastly, a suggestion for submitting feedback on the website. Would it be possible to position the "submit" button so it's visible while people are writing their comments? On my first attempt it took me a long time to figure out how to submit my message. --Marianne

Hello, Yes, the transition members do receive follow-up from the website. When each person signed up for a Transition membership, I looked up the expiration date of their existing PayPal membership and entered that same expiration date into the new website. Before that date arrives, the website sends them at least three emails letting them know that their membership is going to expire and that they need to purchase a membership through the new system. So Cattell, Maughan, Thomas Mahady, and Wharton would have received those notices. There is not a separate manual email from me every time someone starts the transition and does not finish it. Once their Transition membership expires and they still have not purchased a new membership, I have to assume either they decided not to renew or they did not read the emails that were sent to them. That being said, if you would like to send those four a reminder note, I think that would be fine. Especially in Chuck Cattell’s case, if he is still attending Zoom meetings, he may simply not realize that his membership actually expired. As far as access to the membership information, you already have access. Log into the ORAS website and go to the WordPress dashboard. Then go to: Memberships → Members From there you can search for a member and see their membership level, status, start date, and expiration date when one applies. If you do not see the WordPress dashboard after logging in, you can go directly to: oras.org/wp-admin and then select Memberships → Members. Also, I understand what you mean about the UserJot feedback form. I can look at the way that feedback window is displayed and see whether the Submit button can be made more obvious or kept visible while someone is typing. If it was difficult for you to find, it is worth looking at because other people may run into the same thing. Thanks, Paul
